We are collecting used mobile phones in an effort to gain a defibrillator for our school.  If we collect 250 phones we will get a Samaritian PAD Defibrillator.  If we collect 360 phones we will get the defibrillator plus Irish Heart Foundation Training for 6 people.  If you have nay old mobile phones in your homes then please consider donating them to the school.

Yesterday, parents, John Wall (Rachel's dad) and Micheal Neylon (Hannah May and Barry's dad) visited Ballyea NS and gave a fantastic presentation on energy, the need to conserve energy and on how we can protect the environment. The class then got a chance to take a seat in the Mitsubishi Electric Car. We learned that it has a range of approximately 120km, is powered solely by charging (plugging it in) and is about a seventh of the cost to run when compared to fossil fuels. Even some of the teachers had a spin! Amazingly the car is totally silent when running and moving. Míle buíochas ó rang a sé don bheirt!
